Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th August, 1956 in Woodland Hills, California, the only child of Richard McCormick. Her parents were Richard and Irene McCormick. The mother of the child was also mother who lived at at home. Michael, Dennis, and Kevin are her three older brothers. At a very young stage of life, McCormick loved to sing and dance. She would frequently put on shows with puppets for the neighborhood children. Her fairytale rise to fame began when she was crowned in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6, which led to a call from an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency, who inquired if she wanted to work in showbusiness. McCormick's first job as a professional was during 1964 when she starred in a commercial featuring Mattel's new doll "Baby Pattaburp". The same year, she was featured in another commercial for the doll of Mattel "Chatty Caty" and soon was cast at La Jolla Playhouse for in the character of eldest daughter in the new television sitcom called The Brady Bunch. McCormick auditioned for a role in the show 'The Brady Bunch.' She was chosen from more than 1,200 other children to portray the older of the two-headed girls on the TV series The Brady Bunch. Florence Henderson played the newlyweds. Robert Reed portrayed the blended family. The run of five seasons of The Brady Bunch proved to be a huge successful one. McCormick, in her book"Surviving" Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice published in 2008 stated that, in the 5th season, McCormick almost lost her relationship with her brother Barry Williams. She was just 16 years old old and the actor was 19. It would have been possible according to her. "But the timing for us was never just right."
